Weather resistance test

Solving customer problems with advanced analysis and "analytical skills"! Introduction to weather resistance testing.

Conducting outdoor exposure tests to determine how long a product can be used is fundamental. However, due to reasons such as the need for long testing times, varying results depending on exposure locations, and differing weather conditions each year, a method using "accelerated weathering tests (weather meters)" has been developed to conduct tests in a shorter time frame. Since Japanese industrial products are used in various countries and regions, it is necessary to understand the extent of product degradation under the weather conditions of the locations where they are used. 【Comparison of Weathering Test Light Sources】 <Xenon Arc Lamp Weathering Test> ■ Wavelength Range: Broad spectrum UV irradiation close to sunlight - A testing method that strongly emphasizes the reproducibility of natural degradation conditions compared to other accelerated weathering tests. <Sunshine Carbon Arc Lamp Weathering Test> ■ Wavelength Range: UV irradiation of 315-400nm, several times that of sunlight - Significantly affects the degradation of organic materials. <Metal Halide Lamp Weathering Test> ■ Wavelength Range: Contains almost no thermal components (infrared), with about 20-30 times the ultraviolet amount of sunlight - Super-accelerated degradation effects on coatings and plastics. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Accelerated Weathering Test <Xenon Weather Meter>

Automobiles, paints, construction, plastics, printed materials, textiles, etc.! They are adopted as tests in various fields.

The "Xenon Weather Meter" is an accelerated weathering test device that uses a xenon arc lamp as its light source. By combining exposure conditions such as irradiation, temperature and humidity, and rainfall, it artificially reproduces outdoor and indoor environments, allowing for the evaluation of weather resistance and light resistance of test specimens in a shorter time than natural exposure tests. The xenon lamp used as the light source has a spectral distribution that closely approximates the ultraviolet and visible parts of sunlight, with precise control of appropriate filters and irradiance. This enables tests with good correlation and reproducibility to outdoor exposure. This test is conducted as a service by our partner companies. 【Features】 - The combination of filters used can reproduce outdoor direct sunlight and indoor sunlight through window glass. - The high-energy test device irradiates at about three times the intensity of sunlight, allowing for a quicker evaluation of light resistance. - It is adopted as a test in various fields such as automobiles, paints, construction, plastics, printed materials, and textiles. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.*

Accelerated weathering test

High-performance materials for outdoor structures related to automobiles and civil engineering! Measuring resistance to environmental factors!

The "Accelerated Weathering Test" is fundamentally based on outdoor exposure; however, since it takes a long time to assess performance, various accelerated tests have been implemented. Our company provides comprehensive support for product development for customers conducting accelerated weathering tests. Please feel free to consult us if you have any requests. 【Representative Testing Equipment】 ■ Sunshine Weather Meter (SWOM) - Capable of dew cycles as a high acceleration method ■ Xenon Weather Meter (XWOM) - Low degradation acceleration but high reproducibility ■ Metering Weather Meter - Utilizes strong ultraviolet light, resulting in exceptionally high acceleration ■ Ultraviolet Fluorescent Lamp Weather Meter - Conducts cycle tests combining irradiation and dark (condensation) *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
